Silk Road Mountain Race

Welcome to the application process for Silk Road Mountain Race The purpose of this questionnaire is to learn more about each applicant and gauge whether that person is likely to have the experience required to complete the race safely. There are no wrong answers to these questions, but it’s important that you answer honestly. The race takes place in a tough, and remote mountain environment. Please do not take p articipation lightly. Entering this event without the necessary experience can potentially put you in a life threatening situation. If you feel that you are currently lacking in certain areas, tell us about it. We will not refuse entry based on a single parameter.

Before answering any of the questions, first read the Race Manual carefully. We want to be sure that every applicant has an accurate idea of what th ey are signing up for. There are a number of questions designed to check you have read and understood the manual. There are also a few situational questions that should help make potential riders better awar e of the situations they may find themselves in and how they might deal with them.

This questionnaire is the first step in the entry process. Although the main round of entries for the race is now closed, t he race is not yet sold out and we are still accepting entries on a case by case basis. After having filled out and submitted the form please send us an email at race@silkmountainrace.cc to let us know you'v e applied and we will get back in touch with you soon to let you know whether you have been given a spot in the race. You will either be accepted, or refused.

Pair Entries

If you are entering as a pair, then the first rider must enter the email address of the second rider. The first rider will complete the application form with their own details, and answer all of the experience and motivation questions on behalf of both riders.

The second rider will be emailed a link to the application form to complete their personal details separately.
